Founded in 1973 after the simple act of a mother publicly supporting her gay son, PFLAG is the nation's largest family and ally organization.
PFLAG is the first and largest organization for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ+) people, their parents and families, and allies. With over 400 chapters and 200,000 members and supporters crossing multiple generations of families in major urban centers, small cities, and rural areas across America, PFLAG is committed to creating a world where diversity is celebrated and all people are respected, valued, and affirmed.
This vast grassroots network is cultivated, resourced, and serviced by the staff of PFLAG National, the National Board of Directors, and the all-volunteer Regional Directors Council.
PFLAG Somerset was established in 2019. PFLAG Somerset is a member of the Somerset-Pulaski County Chamber of Commerce.

You're invited to become a member of PFLAG Somerset! Membership allows you to become a member of PFLAG national as well as a voting member of PFLAG Somerset. A household membership is $25*. Thanks to a generous donor, national dues have been covered for the first 100 members of PFLAG Somerset, so currently household memberships are only $10. A household membership grants membership to every interested individual living with you. Click below for more information and to sign up! You do not have to be a member of PFLAG Somerset to access resources or attend meetings and public events.
*National dues of $15 are included with membership.

Anyone under 18 must be accompanied by a parent/guardian. Support meetings are held on the fourth Thursday of each month at the Pulaski County Public Library at 5:30pm, unless otherwise noted. Check below for information about the next meeting.
The June Meeting is a go, and it is scheduled for June 22, 2023. It will be held at the John Sherman Cooper Community Arts Center. Beth is a rocker and passionate advocate for all folks, and she takes to heart that Christ died for us all. She lives with purpose, spreading the love of Jesus to all--as He intended. She is a mean bassist with a heart of gold. She's been through the fire, and she fears nothing.

Taylor is a vocational skills coach at a nonprofit education center for neurodivergent adults. He loves traveling with his fiance, spending time at home with his fur babies, and eating all the good food. He joined PFLAG and decided to be on the BOD when he realized he could be an asset to the queer community in Somerset. According to Taylor, "I'm the man I needed when I was 16."
Mary Taylor is a librarian (the noblest profession, we might add), historian, and alumna of the University of Kentucky. She is a lifelong ally from Greensburg, Kentucky. She drives a Subaru, the first car-maker to pitch its advertising to the LGBTQ+ community. To this day, you'll see many Subarus at Pride, horse shows, and dog shows, three events with heavy intersectional participation.
