PFLAG Somerset is the Somerset, Kentucky chapter of PFLAG. We advocate for, we educate about, and celebrate LGBTQIA2S+ lives.
A Quick Word of Welcome
PFLAG was founded by a mother publicly supporting her gay son in 1973. That's right, 50 years old! PFLAG is the first and largest organization for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ+) people, their families, and allies. You don't have to be a parent to join our ranks; you just have to be a friend.
HOLIGAY 2024
HOLIGAY 2024: 5-8 p.m. Sunday, December 1,2024 540 Hwy 3057, Somerset
HoliGay 2024 will be held at the Old Ferguson School across the railroad tracks (540 Highway 3057, Somerset, Kentucky). This is an all-inclusive event, covering a variety of holidays. We have F's to give--food, friends, and so much fun. We are providing roast, ham, turkey, and more. We ask folks to bring a side dish for potluck-style sharing. We will be playing a heart-warming game of Spill the Tea (come with your most uplifting story of goodness), Dirty Santa (a gift swap), and we are bringing back our Fabulous Ugly Sweater Contest. Support Meetings
PFLAG Somerset hosts support meetings on the fourth Thursday of each month from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. EST at A New Beginnings Achievement Center (600 Bogle Street, Somerset, Kentucky). Park in the lower lot and enter through the door on the right. Our meetings are confidential and all are welcome, including LGBTQ+ youth and adults, family members, chosen family, friends, allies, and those who wish to learn more about LGBTQ+ issues. You do not have to be a member to attend, though we will have membership and volunteer sign-ups available at the meeting. Should you wish to become a member, dues are $10.00 per household at this time, with National dues covered through to the beginning of our fiscal year (September). We are currently planning our 2025 schedule--it's going to be our best year yet.

HoliGay 2024: December 1, 2024, Ferguson City Park, 5-8 PM. We will be playing Spill the Tea, having a gift swap, and having a ball with our Fabulous Ugly Sweater Contest. We are providing main dishes. Like our picnic, this event is potluck style. We are very thankful to be a recipient of a SparkGood grant this year to spread community and belonging.

PFLAG Somerset is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. We are made up of a volunteer board and rely on generous donations from the public to operate. Donations allow us to provide resources, programming, and events to the community (which directly impacts the mental health of all, especially our youth). Any amount helps and is appreciated.
