PFLAG was founded by a mother publicly supporting her gay son in 1973. That's right, 50 years old! PFLAG is the first and largest organization for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ+) people, their families, and allies. You don't have to be a parent to join our ranks; you just have to be a friend.

We are hosting our second Second Fun Fridays in February! For January, we did Gaymer Night--and it went so well, it is likely to continue. We may decide to do something extra special for this night--stay tuned! Note: we provided snacks for January, and that will absolutely continue. We love a good potluck-style snacking event. Note: these nights are free. Donations are welcome, of course--but come just as you are.

PFLAG Somerset hosts support meetings on the fourth Thursday of each month from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. EST at A New Beginnings Achievement Center (600 Bogle Street, Somerset, Kentucky). Park in the lower lot and enter through the door on the right. Our meetings are confidential and all are welcome, including LGBTQ+ youth and adults, family members, chosen family, friends, allies, and those who wish to learn more about LGBTQ+ issues. You do not have to be a member to attend, though we will have membership and volunteer sign-ups available at the meeting. Should you wish to become a member, dues are $10.00 per household at this time, with National dues covered through to the beginning of our fiscal year (September). What do we do at meetings? Build community--it's that simple.

PFLAG Somerset is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. We are made up of a volunteer board and rely on generous donations from the public to operate. Donations allow us to provide resources, programming, and events to the community (which directly impacts the mental health of all, especially our youth). Any amount helps and is appreciated.

We meet monthly, typically the 4th Thursday of each month from 5:30-7:30 p.m. We meet at A New Beginning Achievement Center (park in the lower lot, enter through the door on the right).
